Falcunculus frontatus
Taken on a bank of the Murray River at the Torrumbarry Weir.
This bird is mainly insectivorous and specialises in prising peeling bark from large branches or tree-trunks to extract insects from underneath.
It also gleans insects from foliage and can use its powerful bill to open woody galls of insects (Dr J. WEST, CSIRO).
Now that's all very interesting info which I could take seriously if this bird wasn't wearing a clown suit.
